I am a free spirit. I have worked in retail, corporate world, and for myself. I love to travel, write, explore and make new connections. As a humanitarian, I’ve volunteered with various missions, met some of the most influential people and learned a lot about myself. I hope to be able to inspire others by showing we can all be vulnerable, truthful and persistent.
Several years ago I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I had been laid off of my job, my marriage was falling apart, I had lost children because my body couldn’t carry to term and was floundering. I went back to school while all of this was going on and got my Bachelors of Science Degree from Guilford College. While I’m grateful for the degree, it didn’t really do much for me professionally. I kind of fell into social media and web design by accident. When my dad died, my church wasn’t using social media so I stepped up and learned. I later found out I was pretty good at it so I decided to go back to school and learn more. The last couple of years I have picked up certifications in social media marketing and web design. I don’t plan on stopping with my education. I think I’ve been bitten by the learning bug.
Since I started this blog, I have gotten three very good friends to join me in contributing to this site. I’ve written about each of them. Ken Gregory, Melissa Brewer and Darla Lee are new to the world of blogging. Each of them has important things to express. I hope you enjoy their contributions. Feel free to read their work as well.
I hope these blogs help to inspire you and show you that you are never facing problems alone. There are many folks dealing with some of the same issues as you. Enjoy the blogs!
