Courage and Bravery

Like most of the nation, my heart is hurting for the people of Ukraine. When I read the testimonies of people in the thick of the fighting, it reminds me how precious and volatile life can be because each of those folks is doing everything they can to retain their freedoms. They are showing courage and bravery in every sense of the words. Nations are rallying behind them with support. And while no one knows what the outcome of all of this will be, I hope and pray that each person there will be all right.

No matter your political views, what is occurring in Ukraine affects all of us. Some people choose not to pay attention to what’s going on with this attack. The scary part of it is that if they don’t pay attention, they don’t realize that this could affect everybody long term. I hope that peace can resolve itself before more violence and bloodshed occurs. I fear that it will not come to pass.

I wish they did not have to deal with this nightmare. But I do hope that people can find peace shortly. If you get a chance, take a moment to reflect and think about the people who are facing attacks with a moment of silence. I’ve been watching one of the celebrities, Maks Chmerkovskiy. I’ve seen how he’s done several video updates letting people know he’s OK, yet he still has missiles going overhead. I know he is scared and many other millions of people in his country fear the outcome. I know he wants to go home and yet won’t be able to possibly for some time. Yet he keeps the faith, and he’s holding a positive attitude and doing his best to stay out of harm’s way. He is one of many who are doing the same.

Courage and bravery go hand-in-hand, and you don’t have to be a celebrity to have those traits. But for just one moment in time, I hope all of us understand the severity of what’s happening around us. These men and women are exhibiting all kinds of bravery to fight for their freedom and stay alive. So if you’re a person of religious nature like I am, you might pray for them, and even if you’re not a person of religious background, that’s fine too; you might want to take a moment to reflect and acknowledge them with a moment of silence. Courage and bravery are some of the things that make this world better. I hope it’s a great day for each of you and please stay safe.

  1. I admire that these people are not running scared, but they are bearing arms and fighting against the injustice, but I pray for peace and that the loss of innocent life will stop. And yes, it is already affecting me at the pump – this needs to stop as well!
