Countdown to Halloween

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I am a massive lover of supernatural stories and legends. If there are ghost stories around, I am among the first of my friends to want to listen or read about them in part because folklore runs through my veins, and I tend to be open to things I can’t see. If my dreams are any indication, I might as well have a spellbook of sorts in my head for all kinds of ghouls, ghosts, goblins, and other forces. Sometimes I think the best stories that spook us are those where we don’t see the violence but instead use our imaginations. Halloween is one of the nights that people say that the spirits can come to life, but I think that while that may have truth to it, the holiday can be anything we want it to be. Yes, there is an element of danger, but there is also fun and adventure. Otherwise, the holiday wouldn’t still be going after all this time.

Halloween has taken on a different context since COVID entered the picture. If you and your loved ones decide to partake in trick or treating, be safe. Pay attention to the various suggestions that the news media and other gurus are advising. The guidelines keep changing so much that it’s difficult to advise anyone on the best ways to stay safe. Pay attention to your surroundings and stay informed. Knowledge is power.

Today’s blog is the last one that I’m going to write this week. I am dealing with a lot of personal stress in my life and need some time to sort things out. But as you all plan for fun with the Halloween holiday, I hope you can find time to spend with those you love and stay as safe from COVID and violence as possible. You might learn some new ghost stories or perhaps have a visit with a friendly ghost. Enjoy the holiday and the incredible treats that you might experience. Who knows? You might have new Halloween stories to share. Have a great weekend, everyone, and I’ll be back next week.

  1. Thank you. Between working 3 jobs and school, I need a few days to catch up. I hope you can have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend! This will also give me a chance to catch up on some other folks blogs. It’s amazing how there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything we want accomplished! 🙂
