Congrats Graduates of 2021

It’s hard to believe that so many people are graduating this year. I have family members who recently graduated from high school and college and many friends who have graduated from various trade schools. And I decided to go back to school myself And work on the data analyst certification. No matter how anyone describes it, going back for higher education takes time and diligence.

I look on Facebook, and I see so many of my friends who have family members graduating. There is no question that 2021 has been an educational time in our history. Never before have we had so many people that had to finish their education while being homeschooled. The challenges these students met were unlike anything that most people have ever experienced. Online learning has become the norm—those who could not adapt easily struggled to finish their diplomas.

These young men and women have ventured into unchartered territory. We should commend their teachers for having to figure out new and innovative ways to teach their children. Many parents became teachers on top of holding down jobs from home. While we all had ancestors who learned trades and skills from family and friends, this group of graduates learned virtually. The virtual world of learning is not an easy one.

I can remember when online learning was starting. In the early nineties, I took a course at a technical college and online education. I flunked the class. That failure made me wary of learning online. When I finally decided to go back to school, it became clear that most of my courses would be online. I had to learn to make up my mind that I was going to pass these courses. Online learning has gotten much easier over the years, but it still is not the easiest task to accomplish.

Diplomas certifications and degrees are now available online. But it takes diligence and perseverance To accomplish your goal. The graduates of 2021 have accomplished something that no other class has ever done. They have graduated from school, but they have also graduated from a foreign world to many people and have had their eyes opened to endless possibilities. As they embark on their future endeavors, I hope they can remember what it took to achieve these goals.

So as the summer begins and students are graduating, I hope each of the graduates remembers their journey and has a very prosperous future. They’ve earned a little time to celebrate their accomplishments and to look forward to the future. Have a great weekend, everyone.
