I love the snow. It has an element of purity and innocence and yet is dangerous all at the same time. It’s almost as if mother nature paints a perfect picture with a canvas only to destroy it as the weather warms. Whether you like to go build snowmen/snow women, bobsled, throw snowballs or make snow cream, one thing remains the same. It’s fun.
As a kid I loved to make snow angels. There’s something about the outdoors that is difficult to describe. It can be freeing, liberating, adventurous and picturesque. It can also be a wonderful respite from a world that has constant technology, interruptions and a wonderful venue to get out and exercise.
So what do you want to do in the snow? Some folks like to ski along with the items previously mentioned. But what about while the whether is snowing so hard it’s dangerous to be outdoors? What then? Here’s a few things I found to really help pass a little time.
Read. It’s a great opportunity to catch up on a book you’ve been wanting to read. It’s also a great time to cook. There’s so many recipes I have been wanting to experiment with. It would be great to have the time to actually try it.
Arts and crafts are another option. Some folks play music, others paint or draw, some do crafts. Whatever you love to do, it’s a great time to do it.
The main thing is to have fun. I know as soon as I get a chance to play in the snow, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Stay safe and enjoy the snow when it comes your way!
